Game night at Critical Hits was awesome, and NOT just because I won the werewolves game. Yes, you were right to be suspicious of me. I was killing all your villagers. Hey, I just do what the cards tell me.

Thanks to those who came early to plan for '09. Here's what we decided:

Monthly Third Thursdays are back! Each month in '09 we'll meet in the evening on the third Thursday of the month at a restaurant, coffee shop, bar, anyplace where it's fun and easy to just show up. The purpose? Just hang out. We may even try to get a voting system set up on the website so you can vote each month on where we go. We'll let you know the place by blog and e-mail.

Speaking of the website: We will have a new one up January 1. McKinze is working on this but if you want to help, let her know. Getonbase@iowacityarea.com.

What else? We still want to do other random things like: bad bowl game parties, ringing the bell for salvation army, Kernels baseball games, bonfires, game night, open rehearsals with hip string quartets, etc. How? You! Got an idea? Come to third thursday and run it by a few people or post it on the blog. If you feel like there's interest, go for it! Sounds easy and fun, right? Right. So tell your friends. Because you are BASE. And you are how we grow. So seriously, tell your friends that 2009 is the year of BASE. Or I'll come back for more villagers.
